You could call us a farmers’ market as we are everything a farmers’ market might be save for a couple key differences: firstly, we’re not farmers. We know farmers. What we’ve learned is that for a lot of farmers to constantly leave their farms to come into the city is not practical and often doing so even just to make it to a weekly market is seldom worth it. Secondly, we have a wider variety of product packed under one tent. We don’t need to rely on the harvest of a single farm. We can go to as many farms as we’d like which allows us to carry all sorts of goodies, including strange and rarer items such as gooseberries and the fabled paw-paw.
