Muddy Crops is proud to carry Toronto's very own Brodflour stone milled flour. The old school maniacs at Brodflour create their flour fresh, as to preserve the nutrients, oils and minerals that are considered healthy aspects of flour. It is best to enjoy within the first few weeks of milling, which is why they conveniently add the mill date right on the packaging.
To preserve the nutrients a little longer flour can be stored in the fridge. This will extend its life from 6 weeks to 3 months. Flour also doesn't really go bad - this is just the recommended time frame to get the most of product.
